We are opening the API gradually. Leave your email and we will send you one message when your access is ready.

That is the only thing we use it for, unless you tick the box for Budget Hub news. You can ask us to delete it at any time.

We use your email only to tell you about API access, and news if you ticked the box. See our Privacy Policy.

What you can do with it

Import a bank statement

Send a Capitec, FNB, Standard Bank, Nedbank or Absa CSV. Every transaction is categorised for you, and you can correct anything we get wrong. Up to 4 MB and 5,000 rows a file.

Get your month-end numbers

Income, spending by group, your savings rate, your financial health score and how each goal is tracking, as JSON you can drop into a spreadsheet or your own dashboard.

Keep your records current

Update income and expenses, add goal contributions, change an investment's value and track subscriptions, with the same rules and plan limits as the website.

Your data stays yours

The API works on your own account and nothing else.

How access works

  1. Join the waitlist

Add your email. Tell us what you would build if you like.

  2. We open access in batches

We are letting people in gradually while we watch how the API holds up. We do not have a date yet.

  3. Create a key and make a call

You will need a free Budget Hub account. Create a key from your dashboard and make your first call in about a minute.

Questions

Is the API free?

We have not settled pricing for API access yet. People on the waitlist hear first.

Do I need a Budget Hub account?

To join the waitlist, no. To use the API, yes: keys belong to an account, and the API only ever works on that account's own data.

What can I connect it to?

Anything that can send an HTTPS request with a header: a Python or Node script, a spreadsheet script, a home server, a scheduled job. The docs have copy-paste examples in curl, Python and JavaScript.

Are there limits on statement uploads?

Each file can be up to 4 MB and 5,000 rows. On the Free plan you can upload 1 statement a month and the newest 50 transactions are imported.

When will it open?

We do not have a date. We will email you once, when your access is ready.

What do you do with my email?

We use it to tell you when API access opens. If you tick the box we will also send Budget Hub news and money tips, and every email has an unsubscribe link. See our Privacy Policy.
