Budget Hub was built by a solo South African developer who got tired of guessing where his money went each month. The goal was simple: upload a bank statement, see spending sorted out clearly, set a few savings goals, and actually understand your finances — without needing a background in accounting or an expensive advisor.

The budgeting tools that were out there often buried the useful features behind steep paywalls, or were so complicated that budgeting felt like a chore. So Budget Hub was made to be the opposite: simple, clear, and built around how South Africans actually bank.

Plenty of other South Africans are in the exact same spot — trying to take control of their money but stuck without a tool that fits their lives. So Budget Hub was opened up for everyone.
